Prior to joining the staff of Liberty, Steve served as Worship Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Harrisburg, IL. for 17 years, Riverside Baptist Church in Newport News, VA and Eastgate Baptist Church in Burton, MI. 

Steve's passion in ministry is to lead people to experience God in a new and fresh way.  By using creative arts, Steve hopes to touch people's lives and emotions with God' grace and to challenge their faith to be the one stable foundation that can bring each individual to abundant life.

Steve is originally from Tennessee where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education from Union University in Jackson, TN.  Steve is married to Virginia (Ginny) and they are the parents to three children: a son, Jeremy, who is a first year student at Union University,  and two daughters, Jillian, who is a junior in high school, and JennyLynn, who is a freshman in high school.
